Bring auspicious vibes into your home with Viva Magenta, the Pantone Color of the Year 2023!
Tiles

The handmade textures and tonal variations of the Melange tiles in Bordeaux create lively surfaces.

Now that borders have reopened and the economy is buzzing once again, we are emerging from the anxious uncertainty of the past three years with optimism and confidence. It’s no surprise then that the Pantone Color Institute has declared the radiant Viva Magenta their Color of the Year 2023. Viva Magenta comes from the family of reds, inspired by the colour of cochineal and is a signal of strength. This powerful hue features a primordial quality that is powerful and life-affirming with an almost rebellious spirit. Red in colour psychology boosts the appetite and is the colour of love and passion. It definitely commands attention when used in interiors, and can be used to kick up the energy in any space. Read on to discover the tiles you can use to add this spicy hue to your home!

The Bordeaux colour of the Melange tile collections isn’t a flat hue. Each 10cm by 10cm tile sports a unique handmade texture and colour tone that when placed together, gives this bathroom wall rich dimensionality and character. The inspiration for the Melange collection comes from North African ceramics, and their rustic quality plays against contemporary bathroom fixtures and designs for an interesting juxtaposition of tradition and modernity.

Made specially for walls, the Harlequin tile collection assumes the shape of a subway tile with dimensions of 28cm by 7cm. The red of Burdeos is used to zone this shower area, with tiles in Bianco on the adjacent wall for a contrast of both colour as well as glossy and matte finishes. The Harlequin collection is available in nine colours.

Used on the bathroom wall, the red wine hue of Granato in the Metro tile collection pulls attention towards the elegant washbasin. The same 7.5cm by 15cm tile used in the kitchen is laid in a herringbone pattern on the backsplash for a charming touch to the all-white space, which also shows off the tile’s versatility.

A joyful celebration of pattern and colour, the One tile brings eye candy into interiors. Out of the six colour options on offer, it is this one with a mix of fuchsia, tangerine, peach and red in a kaleidoscopic design that is the most attention-grabbing. Specially printing methods were developed to bring the brilliance of colours to the 120cm by 120cm tiles that are only 6mm thick.
