Their tagline “Our world is your playground” expresses the playful, energetic spirit of the newest five-star hotel on Orchard Road, the Pulllman Singapore. Part of the Accor group, Pullman Singapore was designed by EDG Design as a vibrant, fashion-forward destination for play, work and rest. Its interiors are modelled after the renowned fashion houses found on the Orchard belt, with strong lifestyle offerings and bold visual branding for both public areas and private spaces such as the guest rooms. RICE is honoured and delighted to have supplied several Mutina collections to this visionary space. Mutina, a brand exclusive to RICE, has some of the design industry’s best-known names behind its award-winning tiles. The pairing of decorative Mutina tiles and the Pullman Singapore’s vibrant individualistic personality couldn’t be more perfect. Location: Eden Restaurant
Collection: Mutina Punto
The Eden restaurant, Pullman’s all-day dining establishment, is part of the buzzy nucleus of the hotel on its 4th floor, which comprises the lounge, bar, meeting rooms, and pool deck. Eden sits in a new glasshouse structure specially designed for it, giving diners an amazing view of Orchard Road below. The classical European winter garden served as the inspiration for its design, hence the lush greenery amidst natural daylight. Mutina Punto Up tiles in glossy Brun, designed by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, clad the walls of this space along the buffet line. The shine of the tiles, together with its design of large raised dots, provides exciting visual texture when the light hits. The unique brown shade is also an unusual colour that works perfectly with its black and white mosaic flooring. Punto is also available with a sunken dot design, and in five colours and two finishes of matte and glossy.
Location: Guest bathrooms
Collection: Mutina DIN
The 326 guest rooms at the Pullman combine smart features and technology with inspiration from the apartments of fashion greats for design and function that is cutting edge, yet rooted in comfort and sartorial style. The guest bathrooms are decked out in classic black and white, courtesy of Mutina DIN tiles by German designer Konstantin Grcic. The deceptively simple DIN collection is a series of modular mosaic pieces created to fulfil contemporary design expectations, with four tile sizes that all fit into the same grid. At the Pullman, DIN tiles in white with a glossy finish and black grouting are used in the vanity area, and black tiles with a glossy finish and white grouting are used in the shower area, their polarity linked by the same tile sizes and orientation used. The walls are complemented with black-and-white terrazzo countertops and DIN tiles in navy and a matte finish on the floor. The grid lines of the glass bricks behind the mirrors continue the visual motif for a cohesive look.
