Tiles

Mutina Interiors is a new tool which shows how Mutina tiles can be applied in spaces to create stylishly distinctive homes.

Italian company Mutina makes the most stylish, and some might say unconventional tiles. Produced in collaboration with a star-studded roster of architects and designers, their tiles are not just about lovely prints, patterns and texture, but are rooted in concepts of exploration and storytelling. These decorative and sometimes highly-textured tiles, which even include three-dimensional forms, pose exciting possibilities for interiors, and a new online tool has now made it easier to imagine them in our homes.

The new Mutina Interiors tool, hosted on the brand’s website, features Mutina tiles used in 24 cosy and contemporary spaces. In each image, the various surfacing materials used, such as tiles, paint and wood are marked with a circle, which when clicked, reveals the exact product name for easy reference.

The visuals featured in Mutina Interiors follow the lead of living concepts presented in Casa Mutina Modena. This series of suites in Modena, Italy is designed by Copenhagen-based OEO Studio, in collaboration with Mutina, to demonstrate the creative potential of Mutina's ceramics.

Just click on each circle marking to find out the name of the material used in that area.

Each of the 24 intimate interiors showcases a comfortable mix of elements for relaxed liveable spaces that also have original and distinctive styles. The ideas within the living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms, and outdoor spaces, are versatile enough to be applied to all interiors, from the smallest apartment to a larger family home.

There are four tiles from the Mutina Tape collection by Raw Edges used in this minty cool bathroom, two in the shower enclosure and two outside in the dry area.

Apart from the pairing of two Mutina Mattonelle Margherita tiles on the floor, the third tile used in this space is on the wall. The form of the Small Green triangle from the Rombini collection brings a play of light and shadow to the feature wall.

The Mutina Puzzle tile in Creta is a perfect fit for this balmy balcony, its random graphic patterns adding a touch of energy to the space.

The tonal variations of the beige Fog tiles from the Mews collection by Barber & Osgerby create flooring in this bedroom that echoes the effect of dappled sunlight.
