Stone-inspired tiles created the chic interiors of these real homes!
Tiles

When there are so many tile designs to choose from, it is understandably difficult to select. Start your design process by visualising the end product, or look at examples of real homes to see what surfacing materials go into the bones of creating attractive interiors. The local interior design firms featured here utilise tiles in different ways in various parts of the home, and not just the kitchen and bathroom. One commonality the spaces share is the use of stone-inspired tiles from RICE. Explore the great-looking spaces these tiles can create!

The feature wall in this bathroom is a sophisticated mix of Listelli Controfalda tiles of the Stone Project collection in Black and Brown. The colour palette suggests an environment of modern luxury while the random tile widths and staggered grout lines provide a sense of movement. Controfalda is a pattern in the collection where the grains resemble clouds. This bathroom was designed by The Local INN.terior.

The showflat of the boutique shophouse development Atlassia in Joo Chiat was designed to be quietly luxurious, in keeping with its heritage locale and exclusivity. Quod Architects, who helmed the design of the two-bedroom show unit above, used a palette of creams and light wood as the base to bring about its bright and breezy interiors. The matte Isernia tiles on the floor in the size of 60cm by 120cm add to the expansive feel of the space.

The bathroom in the same two-bedroom show unit continues the light colour palette with its flooring and wall of Stone Project tiles in White Controfalda tiles in a size of 30cm by 60cm. The Stone Project stone-inspired tile collection features different facets of stone, and makes them available in the same six colour tones. Stone Project tiles in the Listelli format of slim and long staggered tiles, in the same White as the rest of the bathroom tiles, are used in the shower area to create a feature wall with a resort feel.

The common bathrooms of this apartment by 19eightythree are both suited up in grey, a soothing neutral tone which is great for relaxation. Both shower areas also feature the highly-textured Rullata finish of the Stone Talk stone-inspired tile collection – the lighter Grey is used the bathroom pictured above left, and the deeper Dark in the bathroom pictured right. The spotlights showcase the unique hammered texture of the tiles, in contrast with the smooth surfaces of the rest of the space.

The visual patterns of the stone-inspired Stone Project tiles, Controfalda and Falda, are derived from how stone is cut and worked. In this project by T_Studio Architects, the Falda design in White is used for both walls and floors, leading to a seamlessness that makes the space appear larger. The smooth flowing pattern of the stone grain is so subtle, it’s almost imperceptible.
